During a routine boundary inspection of Southern Ridge Sector 3 on Day 197 of Year 807, Survey Officer Lenne found marker post S-3/7 standing 12.4 metres northeast of its registered position. The marker was upright. The inscription was legible and undamaged. The ground at the registered position showed no evidence of the marker having been removed — no disturbed soil, no void in the earth, no marks from tools or leverage.
The ground at the found position showed the marker standing as though it had always been there. The soil around its base was compacted in the manner of a marker that has stood undisturbed for years. This is inconsistent with recent placement.
Survey Officer Lenne conducted a full inspection of the surrounding terrain. No equipment capable of moving a stone marker of this weight was found in the sector. No personnel had been assigned to the sector in the preceding thirty days. The route log for Southern Ridge Sector 3 shows no authorised movement in that period.
The marker was last confirmed in its registered position during the Year 806 annual inspection. It was in the correct position at that time. It was not in the correct position on Day 197 of Year 807. The interval between inspections was XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX days.
