A quarantine was declared for sections C and D of the lower residential quarter on Day 155 of Year 809 following reports of illness among residents that did not correspond to any known seasonal condition. Symptoms reported included persistent disorientation, involuntary repetition of names not belonging to the affected individuals, and in four cases, complete cessation of speech lasting between six and fourteen hours.
The Medical Division was unable to determine a cause. No contamination of the water supply was identified. No external exposure event was recorded for the period immediately prior to the onset of symptoms. The illness did not spread beyond sections C and D despite no physical barrier between those sections and the remainder of the lower quarter.
The quarantine was lifted on Day 177 after the majority of symptoms had subsided. Forty-one residents had been registered within the quarantine area at the time of declaration. At the time of lifting, thirty-eight were accounted for. Three were not.
The three unaccounted residents had not been recorded as ill during the quarantine period. Their last confirmed presence within sections C and D was XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. No departure was logged.
